Fleur was the celebrant at our Mum’s funeral. Our Mum passed away on Christmas Day and so we were faced with organising a funeral during a very tricky time of year. Fleur made the whole process of pulling together strands of our Mum’s life into a beautiful and loving ceremony feel very special. She really took the time not only to get to know our Mum, but also us as a family. She made sure that all of the little details that were important to us were represented properly. On the day itself, Fleur spoke with a gentle eloquence and purpose that fitted the mood perfectly. I know that Mum would have been very happy with how the day went and we can’t thank Fleur enough for representing Mum in the way that she did.

Fleur is professional, respectful, gentle and kind and a wonderful listener which allowed the creation of the perfect send off for my mum. From our initial telephone call, meeting with the family face to face, drafting and finalising the service script, she was supportive, quick to follow up by text and calls and she met the timescales promised. Working with Fleur was easy, just what you need during these times of grief. She also offered support for my nephew who spoke during the service and packaged up the finalised script thoughtfully. I would recommend Fleur.

Fleur is truly wonderful at what she does. She manages to balance professionalism with warmth and humanity in a way that feels effortless. I chose her to be celebrant for my Father’s funeral and she really took the time to get a sense of who he was as a person, and by the time the service came it really did feel that she knew him personally. During the service she was a strong presence without ever taking the attention from the funeral itself. I was very unwell during the preparation and arrangement for the funeral and Fleur was an incredible support and was able to adapt plans in order to accommodate the situation. I first met Fleur Hoole in March 2024 when I contributed to my Uncle’s service and I was impressed with her professionalism, compassion and her attention to detail to understand the person we had lost. When my Father passed away three months later in June 2024, I had no hesitation in requesting her services as a celebrant. I was devastated, but Fleur was so patient, she asked leading questions about my Father and even had us laughing with some of the memories that we were sharing, which on reflection, represents her skills in her line of work. I knew that the day could not be somber, it had to be upbeat and funny to reflect my Father’s personality. Fleur was committed to the family from beginning to end, and the service she performed on the day was exceptional. Hundreds of people attended, which shows how respected my Father was, and Fleur had them laughing, reflecting on his life and celebrating who he was. Fleur did the family and my Father proud and I will be forever grateful for that. I highly recommend her services from both a professional and personal perspective. Fleur, thank you so much for the beautiful eulogy you prepared and presented for my much loved mum who recently lost her fight with cancer. Throughout the process you treated my family and I with great respect, sensitivity and empathy during this very dark time and the eulogy you pulled together beautifully captured the true essence of Mum, something that was commented on many times by family and friends who attended the funeral. Fleur was extremely professional and caring during a difficult time for my family. She was accommodating to the fact I did not stay in Edinburgh and that I had family that wished to contribute and offered a variety of ways in which we could all communicate without me having to travel with a young baby. The final draft of the service was thoughtful and beautifully written and her communication and giving me the opportunity to read over and make any changes was very much appreciated.
